Sophia and Kate are an acoustic singer-songwriter duo originally from Long Beach, California, but are now based in Nashville, Tennessee. Lifelong friends, Sophia and Kate began their musical career after high school, and have been writing and performing their original songs for the past two years. Drawing influence from the raw lyricism of Country music, the captivating melodies of Pop music, and the engaging storytelling of Folk music, Sophia and Kate’s sound is a medley of timeless and fresh musical ingenuity.
Noble Dust creates dynamic, lyrically-driven progressive folk pop, blending ethereal vocal harmonies with intricate horn and string melodies. Since the release of their debut album And The Tide Rises in 2018 funded by Club Passim’s Iguana Grant, they have shared stages big and small across the country (a sold-out Club Passim, a sold-out Parlor Room, Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, City Winery Boston Main Stage, The Grey Eagle, The Royal Room, Folk Alliance International) with Stephen Kellogg, Adam Ezra Group, and Session Americana. Their second LP A Picture for a Frame recorded at Dimension Sound Studios with producer Dan Cardinal (Darlingside, The Ballroom Thieves) was released in August 2023 to critical acclaim from NPR, Bandcamp, and Adobe & Teardrops among others.
