Bellwire is a New England rock band first formed in the summer of 2011, now most commonly spotted in the fall. Early experiments in lo-fi, surf, and punk gave way to their jangly power-pop style typified on the EP, Dog Thoughts. Their self-titled 2022 LP is an alt-country concept album that tells a story of love and loss. This October they return for the first time with vinyl in hand to soothe and sully the minds and hearts of the Northeast contiguous United States.
Wishbone Zoe operates as the multi-media project of Zosia Kochanski, an instrumentalist, songwriter, composer and artist from Western MA. Across four full-length albums and a short film, her musical output has spanned intimate lyric-based songwriting over guitar or bass, traditional power-pop in a rock band setting, a process of multi-sourced digital sampling she calls skrumbling, and exploratory live performance art integrating her hand-drawn animation. Her 2020 album, performance piece, and short film “HERE I’M” utilized these latter two techniques to describe and seek other perspectives on mental illness and its vices. In 2025 she scaled way back in sonic saturation for an acoustic album, “Blue Distances”, consisting of ten skeletal songs on voice, guitar, and minimal instrumentation.
