"Effervescent." "Soulful." "Danceable." When writers try to describe Moxie, they produce bright and passionate adjectives, words that conjure warmth and passion. But the word that seems to stick above all else is "unique." Moxie draws from a wide range of inspiration, collaging the influences of grooves and melodies that span across decades forming together. This crafts a sound that simultaneously evokes the comfort of a classic and the wonder of an entirely new sound. Moxie is made of Rei Kimura's powerful vocals which reminisce of classic soul and blues, Leander Holzapfel's shimmering and dynamic lead guitar voicing colorful chords and bright leads, Daniel Snyder's unbelievably tight grooves which draw jealous looks from metronomes everywhere, and David Cohen's basslines which often blur the line into a lead instrument. This crafts a sound that simultaneously evokes the comfort of a classic and the wonder of an entirely new sound. Together, their influences blend and swirl, creating a hybrid which truly, unambiguously, sounds of Moxie.

In the almost two years since TIFFY’s introduction to the Massachusetts and New Hampshire music scenes, Sammy has played throughout both states andtaken the stage at The Thing in the Spring (Peterborough, NH) and the Foreside Music Festival (Kittery, ME). Following the inferno of Fire Sale, Sammy released her new single and video “I’m Not Equipped For This,” a rebel yell against the soul-grinding weight of the workweek.

Her latest singles - "Don’t Wanna Talk” and "Something for Nothing” -released over the summer digitally and coupled on a limited edition vinyl and cassette titled “Double Feature” via Dollhouse Lightning. The releases have so far seen local and national press support including a feature on NPR’s New Music Friday Playlist.

Entirely written, composed, recorded, and performed by Sammy herself, this pair of new tracks cements her space in one-person-show history, rising to the occasion alongside a generation of women taking complete control of their creative processes. Release after release, the music of TIFFY is assembled using an entirely individual blueprint that’s built to last.
