Ian Galipeau & the Views w/ Joanne the Band & Coyote Smoke

  • Brewbakers 48 Emerald St Keene, NH, 03431 United States (map)

Ian Galipeau writes happy-sad music about the grey areas... the sadness in love, the hope in catastrophe, the optimism of surrender. His latest album Something About A Horse takes an alt-country turn, leaning into the power of storytelling and simplicity in a set of 11 songs that alternate between 'barnburner' and 'heartbreaker'. For this album release show, Ian has enlisted the help of a new backing band called THE VIEWS to bring his songs to life. Comprised of local mainstays Jon Braught (Modern Fools, Murphy's Blues), Ethan McBrien (Party of the Sun), and Jeff Costello (Hug The Dog), The Views add a whole new dimension to the one-man show Ian has crafted over a decade of performing.

Boston based indie-folk duo, Joanne the Band is comprised of Anna VanValkenburgh and Jocelyn Bailey. The pair started off as coworkers and never truly left that title. They spent 2 years writing with each other leading to their debut project, Neither All or In Between. The EP deals with themes of rejection, grief, and the acceptance of inevitable change while serving as an introduction to the band's sound. Joanne's hope is to serve as a new england artist collective; acting as a landing pad for their community's creative humans, always expanding and evolving.

Coyote Smoke is a New Hampshire Seacoast band full of dreamers, wanderers, and troublemakers. Honest, raw, gritty lyrics contrasted with their own indie americana rock sound. Jordan Cowley and Gabbi Toribio write and sing with their full chest out.

Rainor Vigneault puts the soul and backbone into it on lead guitar and harmonies. Be warned, Aidan Delany on bass and Jed Allen on drums may cause involuntary spontaneous dancing. Jeff Hayes lights the whole damned thing on fire on keys.

Together, these six coyotes ramble on, chasing down our version of the American dream. Inviting everyone along for the ride.

Doors are at 7pm and music will start at 730. This show is all ages and seating is limited and also first come first served.

Thanks to a grant from TD Charitable Foundation, this show has an Access For All option which lets you name your price (you can't buy multiples of this option at the same time, so to buy more than one ticket, it is necessary to do each additional ticket in a different transaction).
